I'm not sure if this is an option in phpBB, but less posts per page would be a good thing imho. I find (particularly with a heavily loaded connection) that long pages will often timeout before loading fully (page 1 of the dvdr thread in the hardware forum is a good example).
Reducing posts per thread should also reduce server bandwidth used, as each page load will be shorter and typically you only need to see the last page of a discussion.

If yours cant load a forum, then you got probs. You on ADSL??
ADSL's fine until you get started with the torrents and the DC and rest...
Even as it is, this thread ( http://tassyp2p.no-ip.com/p2p/viewtopic.php?t=163 ) won't load without php timing out (thanks to your enourmous images). I have one torrent running 10k up/down.
Yeah taxing your upload will slow your webbrowsing and downloads
But its probably due to me leeching like a whore also.
I usually leave about 8kb/s free for the forums. Once on the other host, lets see how it goes.
There isnt a standard option to define posts per page. Though maybe there is a way to do add it.

Use of undefined constants causes assumptions!
