I hope to be able to hold out until Windows 7.

Windows is like Star Trek movies. Every second one is shit :P

Ran fine for me too, however, I have now ditched microsoft OS' in favour of Linux.
Why? Well, if you read microsofts future plans you'll see why.

As I am not playing swg anymore I can't say. However, back in 2006 I tested SWG in linux + wine it worked perfectly. As both linux and wine have been updated I'd imagine it works fine.

As for a dual boot, no need to dual boot if you want to test linux out. The latest version of Ubuntu linux (8.04) can install into a folder in windows, and if you don't liek it, can be removed via add/remove programs in control panel

Wine runs games fairly well, the only problem atm is DX10, which is not supported, hopefully one day.
