Players of CD Projekt's hardcore Polish RPG The Witcher may not be hearing the whole story when it comes to the game's characters and quests. According to one of the game's writers, and a chorus of disappointed fans, The Witcher was heavily edited in its transition to the English language

According to translations worked up by fans, the cuts range from minor alterations to drastic changes. One line in the English version reads, "Humans have always hated dwarves and elves," while the same line in the Polish release translates as, "Why do pricks go in **vagina**? It's the natural order of things. Humans have always disliked dwarves and elves. Not for me to know why."

Well so far Ive heard "Die you little **Lady**" while fighting and something agbout being a "fucker". Also Ive been laid twice by two different redheads(dont tell the wife).

Ive also seen the head of my oppontent separate and roll across the floor.

This was a decision made by the publisher to avoid an Adult Only rating. It now has an M or mature rating.

I fully support ratings and the publisher decision to sell more product by avoiding the AO kiss of death rating.

BTW, it's my favorite offline RPG in years.

Yes I saw that and am glad that the translators left that particularly offensive gem out of the game.

That particular similie is gratuituous and there are others more suited to the context of Dwarves and Elves. One of the words you highlighted is extremely offensive to me and so my opinion is that the translators were correct to omit it.
