Was looking at the configuration files for the latest SWGEmu and noticed a few selectable options which will be available in the upcoming final release (Months away.)
While the server will be patched to Publish 14.1, they have allowed for a few variation. I'd like to see what the Pre-CU guys here think of these options. Here's what we have so far.
--Jedi System Features
--Values: "hologrind" or "village"
This allows the server admin to turn off one of the above systems, allowing for either grinding village by grinding out professions, or doing village quests and endless XP grinding.
My choice, well I always thought the hologrind was better, as it gives people a feel for different classes as they grind, and can be different for everyone. Unlike the Village, It prevented a newbie badge collector from starting the path to Jedi even before they'd finished Levelling the first time. It also seemed far more mysterious.
--Armor Protection
--Values: "normal" or "minisuits"
This selection is a choice between the bugged armour protections, where players could essentially get away with wearing gloves, boots, chest, and helmet without needing the other parts.
This was an obvious exploitable bug, so I'd prefer to go with full suits as it should have been.
--GCW System
--Values: "specialForces" or "TEF"
Special forces was pretty much how it is now, where you declare yourself SF before you can PVP. The TEF system allowed for anyone of the opposing faction to attack you, if you attacked any NPC or other player, as doing so would give you a Temporary Enemy Flag and mark you as hostile.
TEF is how it should be, we dont pick sides to be friendly. The faction system in this game was never something serious. Realistically it shoudnt even be possible for both factions to be in the same area without conflict. Never did we see Vader sitting down with Han Solo at the Cantina after a hard day at the Office. I'd even go as far as making PVP enabled permanently for anyone who chooses a side.
Personally, if I had to choose.
