Bring back the fun :)

Discussion: bring back the fun I posted this on the official SWG fora but thought it was worth reposting here because there's some great vids out there and I'd like to know what we all think
------------------------------------------------------------
Remember when we could fight, comment in spatial, chat in group chat, guild chat and send tells at the same time? Remember Docs? Remember Combat Medics and Creature Handlers, TKMs, Pikeys, Swordsmen, Fencers and all those we loved and lost?
Ah now this was when the game was fun...:
-- Pre-CU DWB vid
-- Star Wars Galaxies when the Correillian Corvette first came out (also Genosian Caves)
-- Remember Ranger?
-- Not the world's best quality but hey this is what groups and fighting was like in the CU Can you see the fun?
-- Memories of a game past (Star Wars Galaxies)(compliation vid)
There are many more videos than this. These are just the ones I looked at today.
Why isn't the NGE as fun as this? Because we can't chat when we fight. Because it doesn't matter whether you have a rifleman, pistoleer, pikester, TKM, Jedi, CM, Doc or CH in the group. You just need the numbers to win. Remember how we would fare better or worse according to your group?
The outcome depended on the skill of the player, the type of template, the composition of your group, the things you wore and the weapons you chose to wield. A change to any of those brought about a different outcome and it was always interesting, diverse and always fun.
If there is no desire to bring back the Pre-CU or CU profession and combat system, please, please can you bring back the fun. Please bring back the ability to be social whilst we fight because it keeps the humour flowing and the players coming back for more. We enjoyed the game and we enjoyed each others company as we fought, crafted, ran, camped, hunted, PVPed, shopped for weapons and clothes that suited our templates and the way we liked to fight. That's just a small part of the things we had that made all of it so much fun.
Lets talk about what we'd love to see in this game after being inspired by the good memories (for many of us) demonstrated in those videos.

P.S. There's more here on the Bria forum and here's a link to the classic Fallen video. This site is well worth visiting Triquetra Pictures
