The game wasnt a flashy high scoring game but I have to give it to the fans there. They were very loud and looked to be having a great time. Someone even ran out onto the field to the delight of the crowd.

The idea to do this where they play 1 game each year international in my opinion is just plain stupid. Its not like basketball which the world really embraced. I dont see this game going international any time soon.

Hmm... I don't "get" cricket, but from the boisterousness of the crowd, I would say a better comparison would be if a rugby match were imported to America. I still don't "get" rugby, but it's easy for any guy to dig big groups of men running full-tilt into one another.

Why we named it football when you use ur hands 95% of the time is beyond me.

Even how we got the name soccer is retarded. (but i do like the name)

Find Etymology here:

Interesting! So in North America, they shortened the word, "Association" into "Soccer," while in Europe they dropped the "Association" and just focused on calling it "football." Gee, I learned yet another useless tidbit of information today! Thanks!

I can help you there.

From what I understand American Football originates with Rugby, Officialy Rugby is Rugby Football, so it is a simple extention for it to become American Football
