Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...

I'm going back to where the good stuff is http://www.bigfinish.com/Doctor-Who and old re-runs of the proper Doctor Who - y'know the pre. Russell T. Davies bollocks. Doctor Who has been fully NGE'd.

ever see sg1 episode 200?

one of the skits in that was "lets replace the cast with younger actors"

now that was intenionally funny, this isn't

i'm worried that the younger doctor will be like dr who 90210

SG-1 was a fantastic show I have all the seasons. The 200th episode was great. The Marionette version of SG-1 in that episode was hilarious too.

Tom Baker was my favorite, though I thought the shows with Christopher Eccleston where pretty good...

i really liked eccleston as well
he had an underlying psychotic streak which made you believe he was a very dangerous doctor to cross

They need someone older, they need to cut out all the snogging and all the gay references and get back to simply being the Doctor. More Sci-Fi, less fluff.

Matt smith appears to be a poor choice, looks like they may be trying to cater for a younger audience.

I would like to see a more adult version of the doctor , with maybe Ron Jeremies as the Doctor using his sonic 'screw' driver on sexy female aliens.
Also with lots of violence as well. Only joking about ron jeremies, although it might be quite interesting.

I think they need to make Doc Who a lot more darker and a little more serious, like in the old days when children hid behind their sofas, because it was so scary. Even though when I was a kid i though it was a comedy with all the crappy special effects.

Its the same as i think the only hope for a new trek series is for it to be a more darker, violent show. Maybe set further in the future when Earth is not as powerful as once were and the federation broken up, with civil war, and with proper military style uniforms and not the different coloured suits they wear, em im a captain so i wear red, your a science officer you wear blue etc.
'Ahh mr crusher do u like the carpet in my ready room, your mother didnt like it last night when she burned her knees on it, just after I said engage' (big smile appears on picards face) 'hahaha, i was just practising saying engage, you see mr crusher, its kind of my catchphrase so I like to practise it you see, ha i think your mother got the wrong end of the stick, she thought I had said engaged', 'how we laughed when we realised what had happened, pour me another earl grey, young wesley'

Anyway, I think Doctor Who and Trek need to take the reimagined Battlestar Galactica route.
Wham bam thankyou MAM.

Do you want to see my lollipop.

they need to get eccleston back
he was a very dangerous dr
he said he'd fuck you up, you believed him
not that tennet was bad (nothing scottish is bad), but ecc.was the reimaging it needed
tennent was young tom baker, which isn't a bad thing
this wee fella reminds me of the stargate episode "200" in the skit where they made them all younger with attitude
i hope to be proven wrong

you try to battlestar trek and you take away what made it trek
they pulled it off once with ds9
it made the trekkiverse a dangerous place to live (see the 6th series episode "in the pale moonlight" a reference to jack nicholson's joker)

they pulled it off magnificently once. it wont happen again
