Plot Summary: "The Incredible Hulk" kicks off an all-new, explosive and action-packed epic of one of the most popular superheroes of all time. In this new beginning, scientist Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) desperately hunts for a cure to the gamma radiation that poisoned his cells and unleashes the unbridled force of rage within him: The Hulk.

they did and it was shite
this ones on the fence at the moment as to if it's a sequel or "reboot" (hollywoods buzz word of the new millenium)

i think if it's crap, they'll call it a sequel to the last one, however if it takes off it'll be a "reboot"

It's certainly a good cast but I always thought "The Incredible Hulk" was well... pants

So I cannot imagine why anyone would want to make a film of it at all - let alone another version of a film that flopped.

Now... what happened to Hellboy 2?

I'd always considered the Hulk to be a pop-culture retelling of the classic Jekyll/Hyde archetype. How could a story about a nerd turning into a huge green supermonster and squashing everything that annoys him not have a huge nerd fan base? The concept has too much market potential to not take another whack at getting it right. Hopefully they'll actually give Bruce Banner some bona fide lines this time, and flesh out HIS character as well as they fleshed out his father's character in the first one. Nick Nolte's performance was a gem in a mudpit -- deliciously over-the-top, yet believable. Unfortunately, not enough to save a movie that was otherwise exceedingly mediocre.

I cannot relate to the tale as you do, however, I do appreciate your point of view and the way you expressed it

I enjoyed the tale of Jekyll And Hide but found nothing appealing in the tale of The Hulk. Occasionally a "pop culture" version of a classic tale can be an excellent indulgence but I found no enjoyment in the television series. As you might guess, I have not read the comics - are they very different?

Perhaps I am far too girly

to find enjoyment in The Hulk?

Well, as a die hard fan of The Hulk as a kid ( I had a Hulk power-wheels!) I thought the Eric Bana one was pretty good. It was based off the comic book, not the TV show, so I think that's why it threw some people. Looks like this new movie is more based off the TV show as Lou Ferrigno is in it.
