Unread post by Istik » Mon Oct 06, 2008 3:12 am

During a Q&A session at the Creative Screenwriting event, "Eagle Eye" co-writer Travis Wright revealed that he and his writing partner John Glenn on "Eagle Eye" were in the process of writing a sequel to "Blade Runner" and that he had already contacted the producers of the original to get the ball rolling. For his part.

Just saw *Eagle Eye last night. Interesting plot, stupid conclusion.

*=(I'd give it a 3.5 or 4 out of 5.)

I'm not sure I want a sequel to Blade Runner.

I much as i like blade runner, i agree. They waited way to long, like what they are doing with diablo 3. To me it's to little, to late.

How so? Is it because Blade Runner was the godfather of cyberpunk, and now 20 years or so later, cyberpunk is passe? Perhaps, but if freakin' DISCO can make a comeback and be seen (for reasons unfathomable to me) as retro cool, cyberpunk is certainly capable of the same.

EDIT: But I would say they'd need to cast someone besides Harrison Ford as the protagonist, because his wheezing delivery of his lines in Indiana Jones and the Secret of the Crystal Skull was painful to listen to. Time for a new hero.

Prefer a prequel if they must.
