Austen lovers beware

If you love Jane Austen AND zombies, then you're in for a treat. But if you only love one of those two things, steer clear of this one.

Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice, conveniently out of copyright, is being turned into a horror story and movie called Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

Apparently spunky Mr Darcy teaches the Bennet sisters to fight zombies like Japanese ninjas. Cool.

TV comedy writer Seth Grahame-Smith says about 85 per cent of his novel is from the original text.

"It quickly became obvious that Jane had laid down the blueprint for a zombie novel. Why else in the original should a regiment arrive on Lizzie Bennet's doorstep when they should have been off fighting Napoleon? It was to protect the family from an invasion of brain-eaters, obviously."

The book is due to be published in April and Hollywood studios are reportedly already bidding for the film rights.
