I am Legend

Save urself the credits on this one. I was eager to see this and boring doesnt do this flick justice.

The action scenes...(one action scene was a blind being closed over a window and it making a loud noise :) ) were done pretty well so there was potential there for a real good action movie w/ a cool(although done many times) storyline. But there wasnt nearly enough.

I normally wouldnt post a bad movie review but thats how shocked I was.

The book is excellent. I'm sorry to hear that the movie isn't anything of the sort.
"Let your love flow outward through the universe,
To its height, its depth, its broad extent,
A limitless love, without hatred or enmity."

- Sutta Nipata

Seeing as it isn't an action movie, describing it a a bad action movie is accurate I guess.
I thought it was quite good myself, deviates quite a bit from the book, but more in a modernising than anything else.
Pretty enjoyable, Will Smith plays a guy who has had no human contact for 3 years pretty well thought.

Have you not seen the trailer for this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2fWJ6ux8PM

It must be a wannabe actiom movie then. Trailer a bit misleading?

Like I said this kind of theme has been done many times and if your going to do it again you need to come up w/ a new twist or have good action scenes. Who wants to watch someone be by themself shopping for dvd's and canned food for 2hrs?

Its not a good sign when the movie ends and everyone looks around at each other asking, "Is that it?"

Well seeing as I already knew the story, and have seen the other 2 films based on the same one, I wasn't expecting an action movie. So to me, it wasn't one. I liked it, so let's just agree to disagree eh??

I also wasnt expecting an action movie and i'm kinda glad that they didnt do it with Arnold Schwarzenegger as they had intended a few years back.

The movie was good, right up until the end, where they left much, in regards to the subhumans, unexplained and unexplored. They were hinting that there was more than primal instinct, but left it at that. The way it was ended left you to assume whatever you wanted, but with an idea that all ended well for humanity.

While they didnt leave it uninfinished in a way that screams Sequel, it is entirely possible. If that happens, then it will probably turn into a resident evil clone, where nothing will ever truely end, because that would finish the story.

There are many critiques i've seen as online comments that seem to be from people who havent seen the movie yet, dont like Will Smith, or those who have made up their mind before they go. While I certainly found it enjoyable, it wasnt the best movie i've ever seen, and it lacked the depth to encourage me to watch it again anytime soon.

Sometimes I just wish they would end a story properly, without leaving it open for continuation, which is the norm these days.

ohhh Please let there be a sequel

I already know the storyline. The movies starts and she's all alone...just her and her pet hamster who happens to have an ear infection. She travels by day up to Canada where she meets someone wearing Eskimo shoes. Between hunting for deer (but never actually shooting one) and chopping wood for their cabin, you see flashbacks of what happened to everyone in the town. At times she goes off in the forest to find that handsome owl she always tries to talk to but every single time she tells the owl her name the owl just replies, "Who? Who?"

This goes on for two and half hours until...She and her eskimo friend are all alone in the cabin, petting the cute little hamster....when everyone in the audience comes to realize...its not really an ear infection!!!!

:P

i saw I am legend and to be honest - what is the point of the movie. Chuck hestons Omega man - was far better - more atmosphere and action.

I am legend was boring, it reminded me of 28 days later too much.

I think most people will go and see it - purely to see the new batman movie trailer.

i saw it yesterday and agree with istik on a lot of things. but the thing that got me the most, was at the end how are thay servivng with what is around the town those things can climb as to how many atacked the house and jumping on the light pols thay all should be dead!!!!!
I sneak in my own house.
It's four in the morning
I've had too much to drink
Said i was out with the boys
I creep in my bedroom
I slip into bed,
I know if i wake her,
I'll wake up dead

right on parrot.

Will smith the last man on earth - come on would he really be working out all the time to have a mr universe body. He would start suferring serious depression and loneliness about 20 days in and become a drunk and junkie within 30 days.

But at least with chuck heston you knew he was the man.

I felt "incomplete" coming out of the theater. I thought what there was of it was good but in just left me....

I rented spiderman 3 a few days later and that was a "complete" movie.

I agree with flat "Chuck hestons Omega man - was far better". Most of his movies were great.
