I'd give the NeverWinter Nights one a go i reckon.
Will be interesting with the new expansion Pack due soon.

I enjoyed the game so much .. I bought it :)
I see Stoopid people .. .. All the time

UberLeeched DC++ ratio 12.03+ increasing all the time, don't abuse what U take, and share it.
Otherwise I won't share mine.

There's bajillions of NWN servers online, I would meet in chat then pick a server and take it over :) The only reason I can see to do this, would be if you wanted to DM, or run a particular campaign/mod/rules set.

If you did however, it would probably be very tolerant of bandwidth. When mum was using the client, I tested DC against it. From 6-10k (out of the 12 maximum) there was no effect. At 11k, there was a small lag impact, and even with DC competely unrestricted and using the entire upstream, the client was still usable, but notably affected.

Shit I didn't realise people had commented here. I didn't ge tthe yellow crosses.

Yep NWN would be great. Better if it's local as you know the guys your playing with. It would be great to have friendly fire on too, so you can hear people **Lady** when squid burns anach with a fireball.

Who can run the server?? and is there maps made other than off the cd??

I know R0lf would play as he's emntioned a few times that NWN is a fav of his on convo.

I'd like to play, but NWN is a bit of a long term commitment, atm it's hard for me to set aside more than a couple of hours at a time. But, you never know. Ditto with freelancer.

A few NWN related questions;

- If we play on a 3rd party hosted server, don't we all need legit CD keys ? (it's np, i fessed up the cash for NWN the day it was released) if we don't need legit keys, what is the magic to making it work ?

- If we play with one of us hosting the game, which patch version and crack do you'll have in mind?
This always causes trouble for the small group of people who I play online with (atm we use v1.21 patch with a crack for v1.19). Other cracks seem to have issues with online play... any more magic anyone can offer to make the lattest patch work without a legit key and CD?

- Can we play one of the more recent HCR based mods, I love that shit.?

A few tips for playing NWN online would be;

- Forget PvP it gets old and boring really quickly
- Decide in advance, the base level each character should play as and also try to spread out the classes amongst the players.
- Decide in advance the type of MOD being played, eg, slasher, role playing, puzzles.
- Having someone who can quickly connect a DM is a life saver when things glitch up and players get 'stuck'.
- Stick together!
- You can get modules from http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/modules/ but there are about million fansites out there with more.
